The undersecretary of treasury in Mexico, Gabriel Yorio, who holds the second highest position within this department, is set to resign from his post, as reported by Bloomberg News this Friday. Yorio has been at the helm of the undersecretary’s office since 2019. Throughout his career, he has worked at the World Bank, the National Bank of Public Works and Services, as well as at the Finance Department of the Mexico City government. Before his current role, he served as the director of the Public Credit Unit and was responsible for the International Affairs Unit of Treasury from December 2018 to August 2019.

On an international level, Yorio has been a public sector specialist at the World Bank since 2013, where he participated in over 20 projects aimed at optimizing public sector performance in more than 12 countries around the world. Prior to that, he worked at the National Bank of Public Works and Services as the deputy director of Technical and Financial Assistance (2011 to 2013) and as the manager of Credit and Financial Advisory (2007 to 2011).
