Actualización de los Salarios Mínimos Profesionales para 2025

Starting January 1, 2025, the professional minimum wages in Mexico will see an annual increase of 12%. This measure, which is implemented in the Free Zone of the Northern Border and the General Minimum Wage Zone, aims to improve working conditions across various trades and professions that set a minimum wage.

In the Free Zone of the Northern Border (ZLFN), we find wages for different jobs, including bricklayers, pharmacy assistants, bulldozer and excavator operators, cashiers, bartenders responsible for beverage preparation, carpenters in rough work, cooks in restaurants and food establishments, as well as workers in mattress manufacturing and repair, tile setters, and electricians handling electrical installations. In the General Minimum Wage Zone (ZSMG), bricklayers and carpenters also have established wages, with a pharmacy or drugstore worker earning 284.30 pesos daily. A truck driver will earn 318.93 pesos daily, while an electrician will make 315.21 pesos. For domestic workers, the wage will be 283.47 pesos daily, while printed press reporters will receive 624.30 pesos daily, applicable in both zones.

In this area, the professional minimum wage for various positions is set at 419.88 pesos daily, covering a range of specialized jobs. While wages here are also on the rise, the figures are adjusted according to the specifics of each region. For instance, certain professions will have a wage of 321.63 pesos daily. For a complete breakdown of the increases, the official document can be consulted at https://www.gob.mx.

It’s important to highlight that an increase in minimum wages can enhance the quality of life for workers, but it can also lead to inflation if the prices of goods and services rise accordingly. Companies will need to adapt to these changes, balancing their employees' well-being with financial sustainability.
