Montos positivos en la economía mexicana durante el tercer trimestre

The Mexican economy experienced growth during the third quarter, exceeding initial expectations, thanks to a favorable revision in the agricultural and services sectors. According to the seasonally adjusted data released on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 1.1% compared to the period from April to June.

By the end of October, Inegi had projected that the second-largest economy in Latin America would have expanded by 1.0% during this quarter. Primary activities, which include agriculture, fishing, and mining, increased by 4.9%, surpassing the initial forecast of 4.6%. Meanwhile, tertiary activities, which encompass services, advanced by 1.1%, also above the previously predicted 0.9%. On the other hand, secondary activities, related to manufacturing, remained stable with a growth of 0.9%. Compared to the previous year, GDP showed a 1.6% increase in the third quarter, a figure slightly higher than the initial estimate of 1.5%.

It is interesting to note how growth in specific sectors can significantly impact the economy as a whole. This type of data should be considered for making more accurate projections in the future and to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of the national economy. In an uncertain global environment, strengthening areas that have shown robust growth, such as agriculture and services, could be key to maintaining Mexico's economic stability.
