Investments in Mexico Reach $59.9 Billion in the First Three Quarters of 2024

In Mexico, investment announcements have totaled $59.9 billion from January to September of this year. According to a report by the Ministry of Economy published on its platform Data Mexico, 197 public investment announcements have been recorded during this period.

The United States leads this list with a total of $26.31 billion, followed by Germany in second place with $6.49 billion, and China in third with $3.57 billion. The states that have received the most investment announcements in these first nine months are Querétaro ($7.17 billion), State of Mexico ($6.41 billion), Nuevo León ($5.99 billion), and Veracruz ($4.94 billion). In terms of sectors, manufacturing dominates the announcements with $33.73 billion, followed by commerce with $6.91 billion, construction with $6.61 billion, transportation with $5.13 billion, and mass media with $4.96 billion. Among the most notable announcements from January to September are those from Femsa ($9.97 billion), Amazon ($4.96 billion), DHL ($4 billion), Walmart ($3.99 billion), and Constellation Brands ($3 billion). From January 2023 to the present, total investment announcements amount to $170.64 billion, which, according to the Ministry of Economy, demonstrates investor confidence in the Mexican economy to promote the development of industries at both local and global levels.
